This closes your company file on the server. Go to File and select Close Company/Log off. Is this compatible with QB 2017 Pro? I already installed it on the new win 11 laptop. Select the Open file in multi-user mode checkbox, then select Open. The last issue I wanted to discuss is Windows 11. Is that better? Can they both be in the file at the same time? How best to set that up? The next method i read about is running a single computer with both the DB files and the QB program and the users would use remote desktop to log in and use QB. I think this is called "dedicated hosting"? Is this better, faster, more reliable? Do I need a server OS? Any experience with this? What if I bought them a third PC just to host the company files, and they would each have the QB software on their systems, and log into that database on the third computer. I've read about two alternate configurations and I wanted to discuss which of the 3 is best. Also they've had weird issues, like the second PC copying the company file locally and user started using that file while her husband used the original file on his PC. I thought this would be a good time to reevaluate their setup (and my life choices). I originally set it up as a peer to peer network with laptop one hosting the data and a user, on the same PC.
